EnviroAtlas is a website hosted by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency that gives users access to a powerful, web-based interactive mapping application. This webinar aims to introduce attendees to a small selection of the over 400 geospatial datasets, four educational lesson plans, and analytic and interpretive tools available to them.

Attendees will explore factsheets, data matrices, case studies, and other resources available on the EnviroAtlas site, familiarize themselves with the interactive mapping application, and work through a sample of one of the lesson plans provided by the EnviroAtlas team in this hour-long webinar.

Speaker: Jo Klein (they/them), UNC Greensboro, GIS and Data Visualization Librarian and Assistant Professor. Jo Klein is the Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and Data Visualization Librarian at UNC Greensboro. In addition to providing library support and services for GIS and data visualization research, instruction, and learning, Jo serves as the library liaison to the Geography, Environment, and Sustainability Department and the Master of Science in Informatics and Analytics Program at UNCG. Previously, Jo worked as an Oak Ridge Associated Universities (ORAU) Student Services Contractor with the US EPA at its Chapel Hill campus, where they provided support for lab activities and conducted GIS analysis.
