Technology and Trends Round Table Report to the NCLA Executive Board April 2002

The officers of the Technology and Trends Round Table met via conference call on Tuesday, April 16. Those present were Terry Brandsma, Chair, Vanessa Mullis, Director East, Rosalind Tedford, Liaison to NC Libraries, and Susan Smith, Past Chair.

We will once again provide scholarship funding for the Leadership Institute. A full scholarship of $600 was approved by the officers to be used by a TNT member if one is selected to attend the Institute. If no TNT members are selected, the funds may be used by another attendee as determined by the Leadership Institute Committee.

We are currently planning a full-day workshop/mini-conference to be held in mid September. Topics will center on innovative uses of technology and creative problem solving using technology. The location and date will be determined shortly.

In a similar vein, TNT has been approached by both the UNC Teaching and Learning with Technology Collaborative (TLTC) and the University Library Advisory Counsel (ULAC) about a proposed "Best Practices Technology Fair" and how we might be able to cooperate and participate with them. No further information is available at this time.
