It's Not Your Grandma's Reference Anymore
March 10, 2003
Alumni House, UNC-G
Technology has broadened our reference collections and enhanced our methods of providing reference service. At the same time, the core of our mission remains the same. In this workshop, learn how reference services have evolved during the last decade, what changes are on the horizon, and how cooperation can help us improve and expand the services we offer to achieve our goals.
Speakers
Jim Carmichael, Professor of Library and Information Studies at UNC-G, has published extensively in the field. His presentation will be “Flames, Trash, Noise, Jargon, and Jet-Trails: Plus One Million Other Cop-Outs to Justify Cyber Reference Work."
