Roundtable on the Status of Women in Librarianship
Report to the Executive Board
February 10, 2005

The Roundtable on the Status Of Women in Librarianship last met on September 7th, 2004 and will next meet in Friday, February 11th in Winston-Salem.

We will be working on plans for the 2005 Biennial Conference, including a session entitled Food and Memory in Southern Literature presented by Mary Ellis Gibson, Women’s Studies Professor at UNC-G. Collaborations with other groups are being considered for a second session.

The Roundtable’s program at the 2004 NCLA/SELA Conference in Charlotte was a great success. Mary Kay Andrews was the guest speaker for more than 100 attendees.

Linda H. Stone, Dean of Library Services at Central Carolina Community College, received the 2004 Marilyn L. Miller Award for Professional Commitment. The Roundtable is taking nominations for the 2005 MLM Award.

RTSWL welcomes Patricia Leamon to the Executive Board as Director. Leamon is a Reference Librarian at Alamance Community College. A second position on the Board will hopefully be filled this spring.
