The Roundtable on the Status of Women in Librarianship (RTSWL) met on Friday, March 19th at the Forsyth County Public Library in Winston Salem, NC.
Conference Plans:
- RTSWL members, Jenny Barrett and Kathy Crowe are planning for the fall conference in Charlotte. Plans are to sponsor one of the history programs presented by Dr. Jim Carmichael, LIS professor from UNC-Greensboro.
- The board will also present another deserving librarian with the Marilyn L. Miller Award for Professional Commitment. The board revised nominating process by eliminating components, making the application process much simpler. Nominations are due September 1, 2004.
The board decided not to have any mid-year programming.
Web-mistress, Leah McGinnis, will be updating the RTSWL website.
The board also discussed creating a RTSWL membership brochure to distribute at the fall conference.
The next meeting of the RTSWL Executive Committee will be on September 17th in Winston Salem.
