Old Business:
Board
members discussed NCLA Conference plans:
- Board members’ duties for
Conference were reviewed as noted in the July 30th minutes.
Mark
Sanders will bring a laptop and portable projector; Lisa will bring a portable
projector, easels, markers, and charts. Lisa will bring Double Door Prize
tickets for the Luncheon program. Rhonda agreed to make hand-outs that will list
the RASS programs as a way of promoting the Section.
- George Guidall is driving from NY to Hickory. The NCLA
treasurer will have his check on site.
- Jonathan reported that the equipment we use at
conference will come out of NCLA’s budget.
- Joline and Jonathan discussed having the first session
of Sink or Swim? The Importance of
Training New Reference Staff from the trainer’s perspective and the
second session from the trainee’s perspective. Joline will get in touch with
Jeanie.
- Jonathan asked for biographies for his introductions at
the sessions.
- It was agreed that Rhonda should buy Barnes and Noble
$30 gift certificates for the trainees and Kathleen Wheeless who will speak at
the Sink or Swim? program. Joline will let Rhonda know if we need more
than 3.
- Janie will be the “official RASS representative” to the
Unshelved program.
- Janie and Jonathan will leave the 11:00-12:00 session
early to get ready for the Luncheon program. The Business Meeting will be at
the beginning of the Luncheon Program. George Guidall will bring door
prizes.
All
nominations for the new RASS Board were approved by the RASS membership.
Jonathan will call the new members to welcome them to the Board.

at NCLA.
