NCpedia Wins Gale Cengage Learning Award

Congratulations to the NCpedia, a service of the Government & Heritage Library at the State Library of North Carolina, which has just won the 2011 Gale Cengage Learning Award for Excellence in Reference and Adult Library Services.

According to the press release, "NCpedia expands on the State Library’s previous online resource, the eNCyclopedia, which contained about 60 pages of information about North Carolina. NCpedia now has well over 600 pages. Hosting and technical support is provided by North Carolina’s online library, NC LIVE. Site visitors may leave comments or rate content. Interested institutions may even embed a NCpedia search box in their own Web site using the NCpedia widget. Contributors include librarians, historians, professors, museum curators, archivists and more from across the state."
