Upcoming Events at the NCLA Conference:

Wednesday, October 16th:

  • Welcome Breakfast, 8:30 - 9:30 am FREE
    Enjoy a light breakfast or a cup of coffee and meet other conference attendees before the opening session! This is a free and non-ticketed event, available while supplies last.
  • First Biennial Pub Crawl: $15, Registration On-site Only
    A NEW event to benefit the NCLA Endowment, 6:45 - 10:00 pm

    Check out Winston-Salem’s nightlife, enjoy drink specials around town, and network with other conference attendees in a casual and fun setting! Meet at the entrance to the Marriott (425 N Cherry St.) at 6:45 p.m. to get your very own collectible pub crawl koozie and walk to our first stop together! Thursday, October 17th:

  • Breakfast with Rebecca Lee, 7:15 - 8:30 am $18
    Rebecca Lee is professor of creative writing at the University of North Carolina at Wilmington, and the author of The City Is a Rising Tide. Her fiction has been read on NPR’s Selected Shorts, and her stories have been published in the Atlantic Monthly and Zoetrope. “Fialto,” which appears in this collection, was the winner of the National Magazine Award for fiction.
  • Speed Interviewing, 9:45-10:45 a.m.
  • Tips and Tricks for Job Seekers, 4-5 p.m.
