Biographical Sketch of Mark Livingston,
NCLA Leadership Institute Facilitator

Mark Livingston is President of Transformational Library Partners, LLC in Charlotte, NC. He is a Certified Management Consultant (CMC) and provides strategy mapping, organization development, talent assessment, and leadership development services for libraries across the country. He owns and manages two consulting practices and offers a variety of professional services to public sector organizations, corporations, and business entrepreneurs.

Mark earned both his undergraduate degree and Master of Business Administration degree from Bowling Green State University in Ohio. He has worked previously as an internal consultant, manager, and executive for several corporations, including Cummins Engine, Weyerhaeuser Paper, and Wyeth. In addition, he served as Managing Partner of a Raleigh-based consulting and training firm for six years.

Since 2005, Mark has led staff development workshops and completed organization development, training, and strategy mapping and planning projects with North Carolina libraries. In 2006, he delivered a successful series of training workshops on leadership and change management for LAMS. In 2007, he delivered a pre-conference workshop at the NCLA Conference on “telling your strategic story” with strategy maps and one-page strategy plans.

Mark has designed and delivered a number of leadership effectiveness and development programs for clients in business and government settings, including serving as a senior instructor for the United States Joint Forces Command (USJFCOM) Senior Leadership Development Program in Norfolk, Virginia.

Mark utilizes his 25 years of consulting experience and performance improvement expertise to develop the strategic leadership and entrepreneurial skills of library leaders and leadership teams. His mission is to inspire leaders to fully utilize the resources of their libraries to redesign the service experiences of customers and transform the lives of people!
