Business/Non-Profit Specialist

Full-time position. 40 hours weekly. Monday - Friday 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM with one night per week 12 noon - 9:00 PM, and every third weekend.
Primary Duties/Brief Description of Work:

This professional librarian position in Greensboro Public Library's Information Services section provides both: 1) traditional reference / information services, and 2) specialized assistance to both the business and non-profit communities we serve. The business / non-profit specialist both sustains ongoing business / non-profit programs and services and develops new ones designed to assist businessmen and entrepreneurs in accessing the information they need to further economic development. The business / non-profit specialist works with a very diverse clientele, including both external customers, such as local entrepreneurs, as well as internal customers, such as the City of Greensboro's EDBS office, in order to facilitate economic development. Settings include one-on-one consultations, small and large group presentations, as well as educational seminars and programs. To help further the Library's business / non-profit programs and services, the business / non-profit specialist also actively networks with external and internal customers, establishing mutually beneficial partnerships and relationships with business and non-profit communities, staff, and other members of the community at large. A significant portion of the incumbent's time will be spent providing traditional reference services and representing the library to the community. Strong communications, organizational, presentation, website content management and marketing skills are required. .

This job is Exempt and is not subject to the overtime provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act.

Minimum Qualifications:
•Master's Degree with 1-3 years of experience providing reference services in a public library setting ◦Or Bachelor's degree 5-7 years of experience providing reference services in a public library setting
•2 years of experience coordinating adult-programming in a library setting
•Experience using Microsoft Office software (i.e. Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook)
•Valid Driver's License

Preferred Qualifications:
•Master's Degree in Library and Information Studies (MLIS)
•Experience providing business and/or non-profit reference services
•Community outreach experience
