Internship Program:

Self-Help/CRL offers a 10 week summer internship program that is designed to give students valuable experience in a professional setting while broadening their knowledge of Community Development Financial Institutions (CDFI’s). Along with each specific intern project, the intern will participate in a series of brownbag lunches to learn more about Self-Help and the Community Development industry as a whole. Interns will also be given the opportunity to network with one another and other Self-Helpers through a variety of planned events.

Internship Description:

This position will develop and create a Self-Help media library to store and share our brand assets (print collateral, images and graphics, videos, stories/articles and other content.) This will include developing a strategic approach to managing and organizing our marketing assets, and implementing this for our highest-value content.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Inventory existing marketing assets and identify highest-value items based on marketing requirements and opportunities.
• Develop a strategy for organizing our brand assets and create the related organizing structure in Sharepoint. Include a strategy for how content can be most effectively shared with internal stakeholders outside of the marketing team.
• Move marketing assets into the new structure from their current locations on Google Drive, staff OneDrive folders, external drives, etc. Incorporate tagging/metadata so that assets can be easily retrieved.
• Educate marketing staff on how to utilize this system for both storing and accessing assets.
• Investigate external asset management platforms for functionality that could be added to a Sharepoint-based system.
• Explore opportunities to incorporate marketing assets of other Self-Help business units, such as Self-Help Federal Credit Union.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Undergraduate degree in Library Sciences, and currently studying for a Master’s Degree in this field.
• Self-starter able to work independently and effectively consult and/or collaborate with numerous stakeholders

Desired Qualifications:

• Interest in community development
• Very strong writing skills
• Good understanding of content and uses of various digital marketing channels (email, website, social media platforms, etc.)

Physical Requirements:

Frequently requires use of manual dexterity and repetitive motions, primarily with the wrists, hands, and/or fingers. Must be able to occasionally lift and exert force of up to 10 pounds.
