The State Library of North Carolina is inviting public libraries around the state to participate in the creation of the digital collection, "Transforming the Tar Heel State: The Legacy of Public Libraries in North Carolina."
The collection will tell the story of North Carolina public libraries through photographs and other primary and secondary source materials, dating from the late 1800s through the 1950s. This will ultimately serve as a single point of access to the history of North Carolina libraries and to promote the value and influence of public libraries in local communities throughout the state.
To learn how to participate in this state-wide collection, read the Collection's web page or e-mail the State Library at: digital.info@ncmail.net
