Share your ideas on how we could increase membership of NCLA. Would you like to volunteer to help with this initiative? Add your comments below.

Love your ideas Crystal, thanks for sharing.

I would also say that the information collected from the sections and round tables should be shared with the membership committee. I think this committee is the PR for the association, which means staying in the loop with what is happening across all of NCLA.

I know there are lots of ways to increase our membership but one way I'm interested in is by injecting a little enthusiasm with what we are doing. Let's show that we have FUN with what we are doing here and that we ENJOY the time spent with NCLA.

Increasing NCLA membership by 5% (or more) could be achieved by focusing first on Section officers setting personal goals for reaching out to members of their networks on a regular basis throughout the year(i.e. 1 or 2 people per month). Reporting on the results of this outreach could be a standing part of the meeting agenda for the Section.

Each Section should have 2-3 benefit statements that can be shared with the membership at large as we encourage each NCLA member to help build the ranks. We could poll our current members and ask what sparked their interest in the Section/ NCLA. I'd love to know why other people joined and what keeps them active.
