Reference & Instruction Librarian
Montreat College, a Christian institution of higher education grounded in the Presbyterian tradition, invites applications for the position of Reference & Instruction Librarian. This is a full-time, 12-month position, tenure track with faculty status beginning July or August 1, 2010. Requirements: ALA-accredited MLS; a minimum of three years experience in reference or library instruction in an academic library; strong technology and teaching skills. Preferred: skill in designing web-based instructional material; knowledge of business and education reference sources; experience with distance learning library services and delivery methods; experience with adult education programs. Responsibilities include providing formal and informal library instruction and reference service in an electronically rich environment; serving as the library liaison to faculty and students at all off-campus sites. Schedule includes evening and some weekend hours and travel to off-campus sites to provide on-site library instruction. Salary range commensurate with education and experience.
