QUALIFICATIONS: Required Education/Experience/Skills: Master's degree accredited by the American Library Association. Will consider an applicant near completion of Master's Degree program.
Desired Education/Experience/Skills: Experience working in a university, college, and/or community college library.
DUTIES: Job Summary/Basic Function: Librarians, under the supervision of the Library Coordinator and/or Director, provide quick reference, detailed research and reader's advisory assistance. Develops and maintains assigned library collections; provides one-on-one and group training for library patrons and staff; provides programming for adults. They are responsible for the circulation of material and the daily routine operation of the library. They must demonstrate ease of use of Internet and strong knowledge of subject-oriented research tools. This position will work Monday - Friday, 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. and one Saturday a semester. This position is assigned to the South Campus; however, flexibility to work at multiple locations is required.
Other Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Knowledge of library organization, materials, services, and policies and procedures; knowledge of the principles and methods of evaluating library materials and equipment; effective written and oral communication skills; ability to organize and supervise the work of assigned staff; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, staff of other libraries, and the public; and ability to conduct oneself with tact and courtesy.
