NMRT events @ NCLA 58th Biennial Conference
We’ll see you at the conference! Join New Members’ Roundtable for one of the following sponsored events at the NCLA 58th Biennial Conference October 6-9 in Greenville:
Wednesday, 8:15-9:45am – NMRT Breakfast: Drop in for a continental breakfast and enter our raffle for great prizes. This is a perfect time to schedule a meet-up with your conference
mentor/mentee.
Wednesday, 3:45-5pm – Finding Your Footing: A panel of new librarians will give tips on how to find your footing as a new hire, and the steps they took to land their
first professional position. Panelists reflect a cross section of libraries and experience - from a new hire to a
seasoned supervisor.
Wednesday, 7-9pm – Networking Cocktail Hour: Join us at A Tavola! for casual conversation and connections with other conference attendees.
Thursday, 4:15-5:15pm – Subject to Change: Paula Singer, head of the Singer Group, is a human resources and pay equity consultant who has developed a relationship with the North Carolina Library
Association beginning with NCLA’s pay equity survey earlier this decade. Dr. Singer will share her insights and research about succession change and the changing climate of librarianship personnel in light of demographic and economic changes. Co-sponsored with WILR.
