| “Topics in Academic Libraries” | |
| Do Baby-boomer librarians lack comprehension of the current 'cell-phone generation' of college students? What the "graying of the profession" means to librarians has been a discussion for some time; however, what does it mean to our patrons? The new students in academic libraries, referred to as the millennials, come with new skills and expectations, as do the new faculty. How are academic librarians meeting the needs of these new patrons? This panel discussion will look for answers to these and other questions. The panel is a mixture of current students as well as the librarians who work with them. It is hoped that this panel will spark a discussion that should be taking place in every academic library, if it isn't already. | |
