Dr. Dale Lipschultz, from ALA, will be the featured speaker. She works with libraries across the country and represents ALA on all types of literacy issues. In her presentation, she will address the services libraries provide to speakers of other languages. She will talk about the demands placed upon libraries and the creative responses to such demands. She is a dynamic, energetic, and totally delightful person who will leave attendees with much to think about as they look at ways we can expand and enhance our services to speakers of other languages. |
| Dr. Lipschultz is the Literacy Officer in the Office for Literacy and Outreach Services of the American Library Association. She works to build capacity in adult literacy, supporting the efforts of library literacy programs throughout the country. She is currently project director of the coalition building website, www.buildliteracy.org. She has a PhD in Child Development from the Erikson Institute in Chicago, IL. | |
