“ MAKE
A STATEMENT WITH YOUR STAFF INTRANET”
Sponsored by the Reference Committee of the Public Library
Section
How do you develop an Intranet to truly meet the communication and informational
needs of your staff? Get them involved in the development and creation process!
Building a staff Intranet can be a lot of work. Keeping it up to date and fresh
is another challenge. Staff from the Public Library of Charlotte & Mecklenburg
County will share their experience in developing their fully integrated staff
Intranet (now in its third generation). Topics include getting started, development
issues, shared staff responsibility, maintenance components, and tips for getting
staff return so that your internal investment makes a STATEMENT. At the end
of this program, participants will be able to
*Understand how a well-organized staff Intranet can assist in keeping the communication up and going
*Identify the issues in developing a staff Intranet
*Provide ideas for building your own Intranet community
Lida Pinkham, PLCMC, will lead the discussion on the Charlotte project and
field questions from interested participants.
