"Integrating Resources Cataloging"

RESOURCES AND TECHNICAL SERVICES SECTION, SPONSOR

This course is based on the revised chapters 9 and 12 of the AACR2 and covers all integrating resources with an emphasis on electronic resources. The workshop covers the new rules that have been added to these chapters and will provide timely guidance to monograph, serials, and electronic resource catalogers who may be responsible for cataloging them.

Information will include:

*An introduction to integrating resources and their identities
*Instructions for cataloging/updating websites, databases, and looseleafs
*Making changes to records

Depending on time availability and audience needs, the following may also be covered:

*Case studies and more difficult aspects of cataloging electronic
integrating resources
*Resource selection and options for access

SCCTP certified, Bao-Chu Chang will be instructing. She is Principal Cataloger for North Carolina State University Libraries.

Registration is limited to 20-25 participants. Cost includes instruction and a workbook. Lunch is "on your own." Fees of $65.00 (NCLA/RTSS member); $75.00 (NCLA members) and $85.00 (non-NCLA members) are to be paid with registration.
