North Carolina Library Association
Endowment Committee Report
January 25, 2002

The Endowment Committee of the North Carolina Library Association met with Beth Boney Jenkins, Eastern Region Associate for the North Carolina Community Foundatioin, to discuss the next steps in the campaign to solicit funds for the Endowment. She complimented the Committee on the solicitations for contributions from library leaders in North Carolina, the Board of NCLA, and the general membership of NCLA. She suggested that people outside the organization who are approached for a contribution would expect to see one hundred per cent support from members of the Board of the Association.

The next goal of the Endowment Committee is to have a contribution from every member of the NCLA Board. The longer-term goal will be to have $100,000 in the Fund in 2004, the Centennial Year of NCLA.

The list of Founding Members of the Endowment, those who contributed before January 1, 2002, will appear in the next issue of North Carolina Libraries. Also included will be the list of honorees who have been recognized by contributions to the Endowment Fund.

The current total of the Endowment Fund is more than $20,000, which was contributed by forty-seven persons.
