The
executive board met on December 6, 2001 at the Graham Public Library. There was discussion about the conference and
Jim Rosinia relayed news about State Library activities that included summer
reading workshops, launch of the Kid’s Portal on November 1 and LSTA grant
details. Tentative dates for the off-year
retreat are October 21-22, 2002 at The Summit and title is “Library Services
for the Next Generation: Responding to New Challenges”. Topics to be discussed are Hispanic services,
computers, and addressing the needs of parents with children who have poor
reading skills. Speakers and agenda
for the retreat are yet to be determined. CSS has three open positions and there was some discussion about
people to fill those positions. The
next meeting will be at the Graham Public Library on February 26, 2002 from
12 to 3.
