During the First General Session of the Biennial Conference, a motion was made that the NCLA Constitution be amended as follows:
Article XIII. NON-PROFIT STATUS
Further, it was moved that the ad hoc Development and Literacy
Committees be made standing committees. The motion was seconded. The
motion carried by a voice vote of the general membership attending the
meeting.
Third General Session
September 24, 1999
During the third general session of the Biennial Conference, Mary Horton, on behalf of the Documents Section, presented a motion that NCLA support a resolution to encourage agencies to take into account archiving and permanent public access while they studied the issue of the use of electronic publishing in state documents as proposed in the "Study Use of Internet for Agency Publications."
Mary read the resolution to those attending
the general session. Following the reading, President Gass called for a
second. The motion was seconded and carried by a voice vote of the general
membership attending the meeting.
